FLS covers the requirements of flexible production. The production planning software FEKOR can be used variably.
Production planning and control deals with the planning, control and monitoring of production. The production sequence of the orders is determined here and the required resources are taken into account. Read more here.
Similar to the term PPS, the APS describes the planning of the Rous resources of a production (material, machines, personnel, tools). APS and PPS are often used synonymously, but APS is typically based on a fixed lead time, regardless of the other production conditions. This is not done in FEKOR, because the lead time is only an approach that neglects many other aspects of manufacturing. The sole consideration of the lead time results in an unrealistic picture of the actual planning and implementation. Read more here.
The MES is a process-oriented system that coordinates the multi-layered processes of a manufacturing company. The MES is used to plan, execute and control production processes in real time. Both the production planning and control as well as the production data acquisition (PDA), machine data acquisition (MDA) and personnel data acquisition are part of the MES. FEKOR can be used as MES with or without ERP system. Read more here.
The ERP system covers many areas of business planning. Among other things, resources such as personnel, inventory, logistics, capital, personnel, materials and IT systems are controlled with the ERP system. The ERP is used across departments. For detailed production planning, the ERP can be extended by an MES (or PPS or APS). Read here how FEKOR is coupled with an ERP.
The FLS Wikipedia should help you to better understand the technical terms used on the website. Reference is made to the FLS and the FEKOR software. Therefore the terms FEKOR-specific are explained. See the whole FLS Wiki here.
